1. It just talks about data centres as serving requests, where there is a very large chunk of power going to training models
2. "AI demand is growing fast" I think there is a citation needed on that one.
It also doesn't address your statement that running models locally is better.

@mu@mastodon.nz If you read the article it does explain why your 1 is wrong. A local model running on a GPU uses exactly as much power as playing a game on that same GPU. That statement needs no source, it's quite obvious. @zz_james@mastodon.social @eff@mastodon.social
