I recently learned while flipping through youtube that the MacBook Neo saves money by only shipping 8GB RAM, ans saves RAM by aggresively swapping to... SSD. So I wonder how long it'll be before all of those SSDs start going belly-up. God forbid you just optimize your bloated OS a little better. rld@prometheus:~$ pfetch ..:::. rld@prometheus ..-==- os Devuan GNU/Linux 6 (excalibur) .+#: host 20NQS18E00 ThinkPad X390 Yoga =@@ kernel 6.12.107+deb13-amd64 :+%@#: uptime 5d 3h 10m .:=+#@@%*: pkgs 1871 #@@@#=: memory 1940M / 7604M rld@prometheus:~$ top -bn1 -o '%MEM' |head -15 top - 18:15:51 up 5 days, 3:13, 3 users, load average: 0.22, 0.22, 0.28 Tasks: 195 total, 1 running, 192 sleeping, 0 stopped, 2 zombie %Cpu(s): 2.4 us, 2.4 sy, 0.0 ni, 95.2 id, 0.0 wa, 0.0 hi, 0.0 si, 0.0 st MiB Mem : 7604.0 total, 2158.0 free, 1944.8 used, 4630.0 buff/cache MiB Swap: 7848.0 total, 7848.0 free, 0.0 used. 5659.2 avail Mem PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND 2496 rld 30 10 1780740 314984 24556 S 0.0 4.0 15:53.58 syncthing 2303 rld 20 0 1924524 113132 82880 S 0.0 1.5 6:30.24 sway 2456 rld 20 0 565608 95624 62484 S 0.0 1.2 0:05.81 Xwayland 14856 rld 20 0 1132272 77084 31848 S 0.0 1.0 0:04.03 xdg-deskt+ 2404 rld 20 0 510324 42884 35664 S 0.0 0.6 0:00.33 swaync 2398 rld 20 0 2497576 40108 27280 S 0.0 0.5 1:14.50 foot 13677 rld 20 0 1903908 31712 12348 S 0.0 0.4 0:02.71 tut 2448 rld 30 10 1351976 30164 17796 S 0.0 0.4 0:00.85 syncthing Yeah, eat that, "trillions in market cap."
