@nikiel@bark.lgbt I hate so much that neovim doesn't really understand the concept of stable APIs. I use both Debian and NixOS based workstations, and I really wish I could use the same config files on all machines. But I can't, because I'd have to keep two different config repos for two different versions of the same editor. Even VSCode doesn't have this problem, ugh

    @nullenvk@yourwalls.today yeah, i bet i could take a config from vim 7.3, stick it in vim 9.1 and it would mostly work (if not _just_ work). Meanwhile this is a configuration I wrote under neovim 0.10, it literally contains 4 lines of lua and after upgrading to 0.11 and updating plugins it wants me to rewrite something. Come on. And entire neovim frameworks were abandoned and forced people to completely rewrite their workflow, while NERDtree has almost 20 years and works as fine as ever. Every year my tolerance for churn like this grows smaller and smaller, i'm not entirely proud of that as churn does often bring progress, but it comes with a price
