#ScribesAndMakers Apr23 Have fairy tales influenced any of your creative work? Definitely. I've got an unfinished sequence of poems pulling from Grimm's fairy tales. One of my published short stories is a retelling of Goldilocks. Besides that, there's the underlying themes of self-reliance, curiosity, and community that populate my wider body of work. It seems obvious to me that all this stuff was written by a girl who read fairy tales as a child.
