@nolan@toot.cafe I also have junior colleagues who are using Claude Code. But it's not clear to me that it makes them dramatically more productive. Mainly what I notice is that their diffs are sometimes larger than I'd like. It makes me want to be all contrarian and produce precise, surgical code changes that do exactly what's needed with a minimum of actual code.

@nolan@toot.cafe I think what I'm really hoping for is that someday we *will* look back on how silly it was that we typed JavaScript syntax with our fingers, but because we chose a different fork in the road and started writing Paul Graham-style super-dense Lisp or somesuch instead. (Edit: Or maybe we'll start writing and using domain-specific code generators like the late, great Pieter Hintjens.) That is, we chose to keep writing precise, unambiguous code, but found a better way to kill boilerplate.
