This AI doomerism is completely misplaced. I hate AI. In its current form it’s inherently unethical. But I’m not afraid that it becomes conscious and wants to kill us all. What I am afraid of is that my doctor’s office is replacing the receptionist with AI and I can’t get through to a human when I need it most.

@hannorein@mastodon.social AI in its current form will not kill us all at once but like in this example it can kill you, and then someone else, and someone else. It still can kill a lot of people. And in doing so it will make it “normal” and when the next iteration will arrive it might be much more efficient in killing people.
