@silo_bear@mastodon.social @Agonio@social.vivaldi.net @Vivaldi@social.vivaldi.net , trust is always based on personal experience and distrusting an application or service on the network is always advisable. Companies must always earn the user's trust, they cannot impose it or take it for granted. I can only speak from my experience over the years. In these years I have also learned that OpenSource is not necesarly a guarantee for security or privacy, this depends solely on the intentions of the manufacturer or author, just as in any other software, regardless of whether it is OpenSource or not, it only depends on the ethics of the manufacturer with respect to the user and the support community behind the product.
