I really like this show, but they are *not* accepting of anything resembling a happy ending. Main couple? She dies The sweetest female character in the show (married off to the emperor, with children half again her age, for peace, but who actually finds happiness with him)? Dies The sweet guy who's almost making one of the side characters consider marriage and love? Dies!
