This morning I put the iFixit kit, that came with the #mrmcd26 merch, to good use. First I disassembled my headphones cable so that I was able to apply shrink wrapper to glue the two cables back together where they came apart. Then I took my wifes electronic kitchen scale apart, which seemingly died while in use. Fresh battery didn't help and after I opened the case I saw the culpit: One of the two battery cables (the positive terminal) broke. I soldered a small piece of red wire to the end to make up for the part that broke off, insulated the connection with shrink wrap, unsoldered the cable rest from the pcb and soldered the fixed cable onto the pad instead. Sure enought that did the trick, I put it back together and the scale is working again. Thanks, @MRMCD@chaos.social! I would have had the necessary tools in my big clunky toolbox, but this is the tool that I can grab and know it contains everything I need! 😍
