@jwtownshend@toot.wales hehe yes the windows problem on Windows ... I've briefly looked into it before (twice even), haven't found a viable approach yet. (I figured it's at least not a show-stopper, just very weird haha) :)
Would you say the freezes seemed like "frozen forever", or did you abort after a brief wait already? Intuitively I'm not sure what this could be, but I'll give this a try sometime in the next days (original and alac as isolated test cases).

@freebliss@post.lurk.org errors popped up in the windows but they were gone too quickly to read the infinite progress bar still moved during freeze but nothing happened for about 20 minutes and i was still frozen after trying to cancel, i did eventually abort, only happened after building quite a few different versions too, i changed the formats, deleted the build directory, restarted the computer and it worked building on windows, moving to mac, and deploying on linux, i'm not really an efficiency guy
