I will keep saying this until I’m dead: ignore anyone who advises you to “noindex” your incident pages. Even if it’s your lawyer, they’re 100% wrong here. (DYK you don’t have to do everything legal counsel suggests? 🤯)
When you have a major incident, people are going to instinctually search for information because they have another job to do now that there’s a known threat to their own organization.
HELP THEM FIND YOUR VERSION OF EVENTS!
Why would you suppress your own explanation & remediation advice, leaving the people actively looking for information (& those you should be most concerned about) to read only the accounts of critics & analysts who don’t work for you?
This is a foolish, counterproductive practice.
If you won’t take legal advice from me, stop taking PR advice from the lawyers. jfc.

@Wednesday@defcon.social IMO they're using noindex because they mean "noarchive" or "nocache" and I'm not sure that even exists. Having a "our services are impacted right now" page show up in search engine caches is probably what they don't want.
