this is such a good idea, actually if it was a tradition maybe they’d eventually just give the day off as a national holiday as they should.

Personally, I think that there should be a two-week voting windows, and workers should get five days of paid holidays that they can freely use within the voting period. The worker chooses when to use those days, and if they fail to vote, the company they are associated with is fined for a week’s worth of the employee’s income. The employee also isn’t paid for their holiday if they don’t vote. This helps encourage both companies and workers to do their voting. On leap years, the employees should get an extra holiday. Coincidentally, presidential elections are held every four years.
