It seems to me to be one of the most beneficial effects of being drunk, too. At the same time I don't know anyone who's apprehensive of drinking alcohol _for that reason_. I wonder whether the important distinction between this blessed-vel-cursed sword and a pint of beer is how sudden the effect is, who actually voices the embarrassing fact, or something else.
