Not really reading the whole thing, just skimming through, but here's an interesting tidbit. "I’m not ready to announce the specifics, but we will start monetizing this year." Curious to see what they will come up with! "The way I look at it is there’s already money being made on this network. We’re sending lots of traffic to people who then convert that traffic into subscriptions.. I think our job is to just help more of that happen." Someone from their team already mentioned some form of revenue sharing. Hmm.

@stefan@stefanbohacek.online this Mastodon user does not feel that the corporate entity Blue sky is aligned with the non-corporate work of Mastodon and activity pub. I'm sure the shareholders of Blue sky or whoever has the money would like the gloss of claiming Mastodon and activity pub support them. But if they really want to be part of the federalverse, be part of the federal verse.

@stefan@stefanbohacek.online "...his time with Automattic" which is WordPress. WP has one tent too which includes many revenue generating sub-products. Kids, the bottom line is the dollar sign. Don't get sidetracked by 'common goals' and 'co-existing side by side, or 'atmosphere'. I don't trust any of it.
