frankly puzzled that apparently I set up my website to automatically start up when my remote server rebooted for the first time in over a year. It's only been rebooted four times in the last six years, that barely seems worth my time XD

Ich finde, wir sollten uns nicht über Beitragserhöhungen in der GKV unterhalten, solange wir nicht den Preis der "Digitalsteuer" im Gesundheitssektor kennen. Viele, milliardenschwere eHealth-Projekte dienen nicht dem Wohl der Patienten, sondern der Wirtschaftsförderung (z.B. Sharing von Gesundheitsdaten für KI).

Facts that have me LESS worried about the reported plague incident in Russia: COVID became a pandemic largely because people spread it before they fall ill. Pneumonic plague spreads from the ill. Pneumonic plague is a known disease which has had several recent outbreaks in Madagascar and DR Congo without causing a pandemic. A 2017 outbreak in Madagascar had 2000+ cases in a country of 26 million. Still no pandemic. The Russian incident happened at an institute specialized in plague control.

trying to get my controlvault 3 fingerprint sensor working. dell/broadcom has released a driver only officially for ubuntu, and it's proprietary ofc. so i made a sysext for the fork of libfprint i need https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/3v1n0/libfprint and another for the driver from canonical. it didn't work. i'd literally use a snap at this point. there are ports of this in fedora copr and aur so idk.

We should keep the open source clear from #AI for a couple reasons: * you can ai the fuck you want with open source on your machine anyway, no need to push it upstream * it’s genuinely interesting to see what human intelligence can do without clunker * if you really-really want LLM output in your open source just fork off and give your open source sloppy ai generated name and have it run there. See how far you can ride on those clunkers.

Newly discovered vector: * Bad guy sets up the account on FaceMuse and gives phished out information (emails, ssn, dob, driver license which is readily available on the internets) and asks to recover the identity, and harass good guy’s mom, and good guy’s amazon support while posting beautiful stories on your insta and linkedin. * Good guy will learn about it a tad too late. * ????? * PROFIT!!!! What a fun problem to solve…
