A Westminster Hall debate on #Transport in the South East took place on 3 February 2026, opened by Jess Brown-Fuller MP. Buses in the region are largely deregulated, though the Bus Services Act 2025 allows local authorities to franchise routes. The South East has an extensive rail network, served by operators including Avanti West Coast, Chiltern, GWR, CrossCountry, South Western, Southern, Thameslink and Southeastern, with major projects including East-West Rail and HS2.
